Welcome, and thanks for stopping by.

After many years of working in engineering, construction, technology research and software development, I decided it was time to create a place where I could bring together some of the things I work on, think about, and enjoy.

This blog is that place.

I’ve always been curious about how things work. My interests have changed and expanded over the years, but computers and technology have been a constant part of my life. From programming and software development to cybersecurity and bug bounty hunting, I enjoy learning how systems work—and, sometimes, how they can be made to work better.

You’ll find a fairly broad range of topics here. I’ll be writing about technology, programming, software development, cybersecurity, ethical hacking and bug bounty hunting, as well as entrepreneurship and startups in Japan. I’ll also occasionally step away from technology to write about photography, politics, Japanese society, and everyday life in Japan.

Some posts will be technical. Others will be based on personal experiences, observations, or opinions. I may write about something I’ve learned from a project, a security vulnerability that caught my attention, an interesting piece of software, an idea for a startup, or simply something happening in Japan that made me stop and think.

I don’t intend for this to be a blog with a single narrow theme. The common thread is curiosity.

I believe that some of the most interesting ideas happen at the intersection of different fields. Engineering can influence software. Technology can create new businesses. Cybersecurity can teach us about human behavior. Living in Japan can provide a very different perspective on technology, work, and society.

So, consider this an ongoing collection of ideas, experiences, experiments, observations, and lessons learned.

Some of them may be useful. Some may be controversial. Some may simply be interesting.

And, hopefully, some will make you think.
